- For the team formed during the Squid Game in 2024, see Seong Gi-hun's team.
Team Four was a group formed during Tug of War in the 33rd Squid Game right after the players rejoined the games. It was primarily led by Seong Gi-hun (Player 456) and Cho Sang-woo (Player 218).
The formation of the team was suggested by Gi-hun and the idea was immediately supported by his childhood best friend Sang-woo. Other members of the initial formation of the group were their fellow players Ali Abdul (Player 199) and Oh Il-nam (Player 001), who joined Gi-hun and Sang-woo during the team's foundation. The group did not have an official team leader and in fact, Sang-woo claimed everyone was equal on the team. However, most of the team decisions and planning were made by either Gi-hun or Sang-woo, making them unofficial leader and co-leader of the team.
During the Special Round, Kang Sae-byeok (Player 067) joined the team to protect herself from Jang Deok-su (Player 101) and his gang (Player 278, Player 303, Player 040, Han Mi-nyeo; Player 212 and Byeong-gi; Player 111).
Before starting the third game, Tug of War, players had 10 minutes to form teams of 10 players, so the team split up to find 5 more players, which Sang-woo said had to be men. Ali found Player 276 (who turned out to be from Pakistan, just like Ali). Sang-woo found Player 069 and offered him to join the team, but 069 told him that he had to stay with Player 070 (who resulted to be his wife), so Sang-woo apologized and explained that his team already had too many women, then Player 196 offered him to team up with him. Gi-hun found Player 244 and told him that if he didn't have a team, he could join them. Sae-byeok found Ji-yeong (Player 240) and told her to join the team, the team gathered and found out that there were 9 of them (since Il-nam didn't find anyone) and they ended up accepting Mi-nyeo (who was betrayed by Deok-su to have strong men on his team) to make that the team was from 10. Ending up as a team with 6 men, 3 women and 1 old man.
Team 4 faced Team 5 (made up of 10 men) in Tug of War and managed to win. Throughout the games, the team was rivals with Jang Deok-su's gang. After Deok-su's gang caused the riot which started the Special Round, Gi-hun and Sang-woo suggested the members of their team to take turns to stay up during the night, keeping a watch to defend the team in case Deok-su's gang initiated another fight. 5 members of his team were eliminated in Marbles, and 5 managed to pass Marbles and participate in Glass stepping stones (Gi-hun, Sang-woo, Sae-byeok, Mi-nyeo and Player 244).
