This page includes an official wiki policy. |
This is considered an accepted standard that editors on the Squid Game Wiki must follow. For other policies, see Category:Policies. |
Squid Game Wiki has some general policies and guidelines that are enforced within the community. Please read through the general policies below to familiarize yourself with our common practices and rules. If you have any questions, suggestions, or complaints regarding them, don't be afraid to ask an admin.
For other policies on the wiki, see Category:Policies.
Rules[]
- Follow FANDOM's Terms of Use while using the wiki. These apply broadly across all wikis hosted on their sites, and their rules can be found here.
- Users must be 13 years of age or older to register an account. If you are found to be underage, your account will be blocked until we believe you are of age, or until you prove that you're old enough to use the site.
- Users cannot have an inappropriate or otherwise unacceptable username. This includes any usernames that contains slurs, NSFW terms, or characters that make them untaggable.
- Sending violent threats, doxxing, and other actions of this level are not allowed, either by us or by FANDOM's Terms of Use. You will be blocked immediately and permanently.
- Do not vandalize pages. Any malicious edits you make can be reverted and you will be blocked. Vandalism includes but isn't limited to the following.
- Knowingly inserting false information, such as made-up character names and backstories.
- Deleting large sections of content. This includes galleries and high-quality infoboxes. Blanking and deleting everything in a page will get you a worse punishment.
- Adding nonsense or gibberish to pages.
- Do not spam. This include walls of repetitive text or other gibberish, large numbers of posts or comments made in rapid succession with repetitive or nonsensical content, and generally any repeated usage of links.
- Do not harass, intimate, or otherwise bully other users. Be civil to other users when communicating. Breaking this rule against a staff member will result in more severe punishments. Banned actions include the following.
- Discrimination or hate speech against on any generally protected class, including race, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender identity, disability, and more. This is also forbidden by FANDOM's guidelines and will result in an instant block.
- Any action aimed at disrupting the wiki, such as raids, false reports, and attempting to instigate arguments and flame wars.
- Excessive and toxic usage of swear words. Profanity is allowed on the wiki in general, but with limitations. This is one of them.
- Starting petty drama. Please do not get involved in a situation that doesn't involve you, also do not fuel drama on purpose.
- Editing other users' profiles without permission.
- Do not abuse multiple accounts. Banned activities include the following.
- Using different accounts to bypass bans and other punishments. This is known as loopholing and will result in an instant block for all accounts involved.
- Sockpuppetry, which is the usage of multiple accounts to promote your own views and agendas or manipulate public opinion.
- Impersonating other users on the wiki.
- Do not share or post inappropriate content. This includes NSFW content such as pornography or real-life gore, potentially controversial topics (i.e. 9/11, wars, politics), and sensitive personal information.
- No edit farming. This is when a user makes large amounts of generally meaningless edits to inflate their own edit count or get badges and achievements.
- No edit warring. This occurs when a user repeatedly makes the same edit to a page against other users editing and reverting it. Any conflicts over content in wiki pages should be handled through words and in an open and communicable fashion.
- Do not engage in excessive self-promotion or advertising. The wiki isn't a free ad slot for your social media account, website, cryptocurrency, or Discord server.
- This site should be kept English-only. As such, making pages and communicating in other languages is generally disallowed. The staff team and community in general speak mainly English, and using other languages makes it difficult to moderate. Foreign language counterparts of the Squid Game Wiki exist, which can be found by visiting the home page.
- No content unrelated to Squid Game. Off-topic discussion is welcome in blog posts, comments, and certain sections of the discussion feed.
- Fanmade content is also not allowed in pages, for the purposes of this wiki. This includes artwork, fan characters and stories, and TikTok-style video edits made by people unrelated to the creators of Squid Game. As stated before, you are welcome to share this outside of wiki pages.
Reporting[]
If anybody else breaks the rules on this wiki, please use the report function or message an admin ASAP.
Warnings and reminders[]
Reminders are received the first time a user breaks a minor rule, Warnings are more serious if the user has broken a major rule. So be careful when you receive a warning. Strikes are also placed against you every time you are blocked. You get a specific amount of strikes when blocked, three at most, though the amount will likely be fewer depending on how severely you broke the rules. If you lose all your strikes, then you will be blocked permanently.
Appealing a block[]
If you are blocked, you can appeal to it by telling a staff member what you did wrong and how you are going to make amends, either on here or here or Community Central, if you happened to be blocked sitewide. You have a chance of being unblocked, but nothing is guaranteed.
If you decide to break more rules after appealing your block, the original block will be reinstated, on top of whatever punishment is given for the rules you just broke. You cannot appeal your block again and will have to wait out your punishment. Indefinite blocks aren't appealable; you may reach out to staff but it won't be any help.
Block system[]
This is the block system, which counts up how many days you will be blocked for if you break a rule. Depending on the severity of the infraction, only warning and reminders may be given out for breaking a rule the first time. In cases of repeated or severe rule breaks, penalties may be increased. This table lists the typical minimum punishment for breaking a specific rule.
