Characters[]

Games[]

Although several games are based on the show, some are vaguely inspired in locations in it while some are exclusive of Squid Game: Unleashed. Variants of various difficulties may be grouped under the main game. Difficulty is specified with stars, ranging from 1 to 5. In race games, players must cross a finish line to pass to the next level. If they die, they reappear at the beginning or at a checkpoint. Deaths counts may be high as players may die several times before reaching the finish line. In survival games, players must remain alive until a defined number of players are remaining (16 after round 1, 8 after round 2, 1 after round 3). If a player dies, they are automatically eliminated. Death counts are small as players can only die once.

Season 1 Games[]

Red Light, Green Light[]

Survival game. Red Light, Green Light where much like in the show, players basically must run toward the finish line, but only during "green light." Once the song is done and it switches to red light, players must freeze in place or otherwise be shot on the spot. Being killed will send players back to the beginning, where they have to attempt to cross the finish line again. In its basic form, this game is entirely identical to the show, simply adding some variations that can shake things up. For example, there will sometimes be grass that players can hide in. Other times, there might be an obstacle that will send players back to the beginning. Regardless of the variation, the goal remains the same. Just watch out for players with weapons, because those who are hit right as the song ends will end up being shot.[6]

  • Red Light, Green Light 1/5: plain dirt arena.
  • Sneak in the Grass 2/5: grass patches on dirt arena.
  • Puddle Muddle 3/5: ice patches on dirt arena.
  • Frozen Field 3/5: ice arena.
  • Sticks and Stones 3/5: ice patches and stones on dirt arena.
  • Red Reaping 4/5: grass patches and circular saws on dirt arena.
  • Young-hee's Revenge 5/5: disconnected concrete and grass tiles over a pike moat.
  • Dizzy Dash 5/5

Dalgona[]

Race game. While Dalgona is a game that is taken from the TV show, it's very different from its show counterpart. In the original Squid Game, dalgona is the tracing of a shape and cutting it from a small cookie without cracking it. In the mobile game, dalgona relies more on teamwork, as a team of players are in a tower of these giant-sized cookies. Players must run along its outline to break the level of the tower and go to a lower level, ultimately aiming to reach the bottom and run to the middle to win. The game version of dalgona further spices things up with the inclusion of different variations, like having three cookies per tower with only one being able to lead to a lower level upon breakage.[6]

  • Dalgona 2/5: 5 levels, 1 large dalgona shape per level.
  • Cookie Crumble 2/5: 4 levels, large dalgona shapes with an increasing number of shapes in each lower level.
  • Sugar Drop 3/5: 4 levels of individual cookie shapes hiding individual tunnels.
  • Sugar Drop with VIP Twist 5/5: grass patches, Green Light Red Light rules.

Glass Bridge[]

Race game. The Glass Stepping Stones is a game in the mobile game that was taken directly from the show. Like its show counterpart, the aforementioned glass bridge game features a course made of glass panels. The panels are indistinguishable by sight, and not all panels break upon touching them, but those that do lead to the spiky, dark depths where players are forced to start at the beginning again. Should you be testing the waters of certain glass panels, watch out for players who swing a baseball bat; they might just send you flying onto the next panel that might break beneath you.[6]

  • Safe Islands 1/5: columns of glass tiles interspaced with rows of pink firm carpet, 3 rows of piggy banks.
  • Stepping Stones 2/5: 5 columns of glass tiles.
  • Mi-nyeo's Revenge 3/5: 5 columns x 11 rows of glass tiles, 3 rows of piggy banks.
  • Glass Bridge 4/5: 2 columns of spaced glass tiles.
  • Mind the Gap 4/5: 5 columns of spaced glass tiles.
  • Piggy Bank Bash 5/5: several rows of piggy banks.

Squid Game[]

Survival game. Squid Game is a challenge that is played in both the mobile game and TV show. It follows a group of contestants who must stay inside the squid outline to ensure their victory. Along the outer parts of the outline are weapons which can prove to be useful when knocking opponents out of bounds, but be careful, as plenty of players are waiting to do the same.[6]

  • Squid Game 3/5: concrete squid.
  • Slippery Squid 4/5: ice squid.
  • Front Man Surprise 5/5: concrete squid with randomly appearing pikes from the ground.
  • SG x RLGL (Squid Game with VIP Twist) 5/5: concrete squid with grass patches on the neck.

Season 2 Games[]

Carousel[]

Survival game. Inspired on the game Mingle. A floating arena divided in a central area and eight peripheral areas has music playing. Randomly the areas are marked as white or stripped in orange and white. When the music stops, the players standing on stripped areas are shot. Carousel horses move around in various patterns and stun the players they hit.

  • Manic Mixer 3/5: slow horses, edge screens.
  • Scary Go Round 4/5: fixed and slow horses, trampolines surrounding the arena.
  • Carousel Dodge 5/5: fixed, slow, and fast horses, trampolines surrounding the arena.

"Squid Game: Unleashed" Exclusive Games[]

Late for School[]

Race game. An obstacle course where players have to run from one side of the map all the way to the school gates on the other side of the playground. This obstacle course is filled with difficult challenges that players have to navigate, such as moving school buses, electrified swimming pools, and flaming hot BBQ grills. Should you get hit by any of these challenges, it's back to the last checkpoint.[6]

  • Late for School 2/5: bushes, circular saws, fire planters, razor swings, horizontal oscillating buses.
  • Backyard Buzz 3/5.
  • Swimming Lessons 4/5: crossing buses, fire planters, electrified swimming pool, razor swings, vertical oscillating buses, horizontal oscillating buses.
  • Swing Park 4/5
  • Lazy River 4/5
  • School Bus Dash 5/5: crossing buses, horizontal oscillating buses.

Stair Race[]

Race game. Though there is no obstacle course in the Squid Game television show, this obstacle course features heavy themes from the location of the show and is reminiscent of the stairs in the show itself. The goal is to run up the stairs and make it to the very top while avoiding the obstacles along the way. It's far from a standard staircase, however, with no shortage moving parts and dangerous precipices. Along the way, players will have the opportunity to pick up items that can make the obstacle course a living nightmare when played with competitive people.[6]

  • Stairs Up 1/5.
  • Climb Up 2/5.
  • Leap Up 3/5.
  • Bumper Run 3/5.
  • Downhill Roll 4/5.
  • Maze Race 5/5.

Snakes & Ladders[]

Survival game. Loosely inspired on the location of Tug of War, the players begin at the top of a tower of 4 or 5 levels. The floor is made of gray tiles that, after being stepped on, turn orange, blink, and disappear. The goal is to avoid falling from the structure.

  • Snakes & Ladders 2/5: 5 floors.
  • Dodgeball Drop 3/5: 5 floors.
  • Towering Inferno 5/5: 4 floors, fire planters.

Floor Is Lava[]

Survival game. Floor Is Lava is another platformer game where contestants jump from platform to platform. Similar to Snow Day, the goal is to avoid the steadily rising lava. Each platform moves up or down, and as the lava slowly creeps up, the idea is to get as high as possible. It also consists of familiar threats like dodgeballs and baseball bats made more exciting in a context with more vertical intensity.[6]

  • Floor is Lava 3/5: metal hexagon tiles slowly sinking, with new tiles appearing.
  • Slip & Fall 4/5: slippery ice hexagon tiles.
  • Lava Leap 5/5: metal and trampoline tiles; molten lava poured from moving containers.

Snow Day[]

Survival game. Snow Day entails having to survive the breaking tiles of ice. Without knowing which tile is going to break next, players have to run and jump onto stable tiles so that they don't fall and lose the game. Along the way, however, players have to dodge attacks made by other contestants, which include baseball bats and dodgeballs until you are the last player standing.[6]

  • Snow Day 3/5: triangular tiles arranged in a hexagon around a hole in the center where Young-hee stands.
  • Ice Fort 3/5: square tiles, piled higher at the edges.

Items in Game[]

Players can pickup a variety of different items in the game in order to aid their player or sabotage other players in the process. These items appear inside gifts that spawn across many areas of the maps, although some players spawn with predetermined items as well. Below are a list of the different items that appear in the game.

Baseball bat[]

When used on another player, it causes them to be thrown in a random direction and be temporarily stunned. The baseball bat can be used to knock other players off the map in certain games thus eliminating them from the game. Some players, such as Binnie, have the ability to start off with a baseball game at the start of each game. However, this isn't guaranteed to happen.

Dodgeball[]

This item is similar to the baseball bat. When thrown at another player, they are thrown several feet and are temporarily stunned. The dodgeball can also be used to knock another player off the map thus eliminating them from the game.

Knife[]

When used on another player, it kills them. On certain maps, players killed by a knife are immediately eliminated from the game while on other maps, being killed with a knife simply brings that player back to their previous respawn point. The knife as a weapon is less likely to spawn compared to a dodgeball or baseball bat.

Shoe[]

The shoe is an item that temporarily increases the speed of a player on the move. This item is most useful during games where players must race against other players such as red light green light or the various racing games. It's also useful when many players are gunning towards the finish line and only a few of them can pass on. Using the shoe during this time can be the difference between you being eliminated or not. Dani will sometimes spawn with a shoe at the start of a game.

Shield[]

The shield is an item that temporarily makes players invincible to any item that other players try to use against them. In addition, the shield prevents in-game hazards (such as the swing or bus) from hurting the player-character as well. The shield can be incredibly useful in a variety of different games. For example, in games where you need to be in close-quarters with other people, such as the various carousel games, having the shield prevents you from being targeted and knocked off by other players. In racing games, having the shield allows you to bypass some of the obstacles as you no longer have to worry about being damaged by them thus you will generally complete the map faster and are less likely to be eliminated as a result.

Dalgona[]

Dalgona is a combination of the Shoe and Shield ability, since it grants you a speed boost while also protects you from any damage.

Fireworks[]

Similar to the Dodgeball, it explodes and stuns players nearby the target.
