Plot[]
In the cremation room, Workers put the corpses of eliminated players into incinerators to burn, while some are marked with a † used for use in an organ-selling operation.
During mealtime, Park Jung-bae sees that they were fed rice with egg, which was what his mother gave him. Then Jung-bae notices that Seong Gi-hun is depressed because the majority of the players voted to continue the game and offers to give him some of his food to cheer him up, but Gi-hun doesn't want to, Jung-bae said that it was good chance for him to pay off his debt as the Prize money he brought cannot covered enough the debt. Gi-hun then interrupts Jung-bae's speaking that someone said same as what he just said last time Gi-hun came here, who also deceased there.
Then Hwang In-ho and a group of players arrive and In-ho asks Gi-hun if he can help them, In-ho asks Gi-hun if he said he won the game before and tells him that he only voted for "O" for him, he confesses that he was scared and thought about leaving, but after hearing him, he thought about why not try to play one more game, to which others say that they too. In-ho asks Gi-hun if he knows what the next game is and Jung-bae says of course he does, since if Gi-hun won he had to move on to the second game and asks Gi-hun to tell them, Gi-hun tells them that the second game is Dalgona, then Kang Dae-ho (Player 388) asks Gi-hun if he means the sugar candy with a figure that has to be cut out, to which Gi-hun tells him yes. Gi-hun tells them that the players had to choose one of four figures (being ⭘, △, ☆ and ☂), Jung-bae asks him which is the easiest figure, to which Gi-hun tells him the triangle and then Jung-bae asks him which is the hardest figure, to which Gi-hun tells him the umbrella, In-ho asks if some people chose the umbrella and states that those who chose the umbrella should have died, to which the others say that it is true (not taking into account that Gi-hun chose the umbrella and managed to get out of there alive). Dae-ho says that then everyone should choose the triangle, that way everyone will survive and Park Yong-sik runs to tell his mother about that information, but Im Jeong-dae says that if all 365 players survive, the prize will not increase and they will risk their lives again for nothing, Jeong-dae proposes to keep that information to themselves and the others think it's a good idea, but Gi-hun says that they can't do that and that he's giving them that information to save their lives, when it's confirmed that Dalgona is the next game, he'll tell everyone what he knows. In-ho stays with Gi-hun as the other players leave and makes sure to remember the information and Jung-bae asks Gi-hun which figure he chose.
Yong-sik runs to tell his mother what the next game is, but when he gets to her bed he discovers that she isn't there, Yong-sik gets worried and rushes to look for her, Kim Jun-hee is eating and Jang Geum-ja shares her food with her (since Geum-ja knows that Jun-hee is pregnant), Geum-ja gives Jun-hee advice on what to eat and tells her that she has helped many mothers have their babies, telling her that she could tell she was pregnant by her body shape and the way she walks and the old woman believes that she is close to giving birth. Geum-ja tells Jun-hee that it's bad for her or the baby for her to hold her belly too tightly and that it is dangerous, which is why she felt pain, Jun-hee tells the old woman that she is not pregnant and Geum-ja asks her how she ended up in that place in her condition. Then Yong-sik arrives and tells his mother to anything so he can tell her what he heard, Geum-ja tells her son to give him a minute and tells Jun-hee to eat all the food and if something goes wrong, come see her, Yong-sik grabs his mother and takes her with him.
In-ho asks Gi-hun why he came back if he won ₩45,600,000,000 in 2020. Gi-hun says that the money is blood money and does not belong to him. In-ho argues that he doesn't have to think of it that way since he didn't kill the other contestants and saving the money won't bring them back to life. Gi-hun frustratedly reminds In-ho that he was the last to vote and it is because of him that the players couldn't leave. In-ho says that there were still 182 more people who wanted to stay and asks Gi-hun if he thinks they would be happy had he voted to end the games.
Jung-bae quickly defuses the argument saying there's no point placing blame now and that they should all stick together. Dae-ho echoes Jung-bae's sentiments and introduces himself. He talks about how he's come to admire Gi-hun for guiding everyone during the Red Light, Green Light and that he would like to get to know them. Dae-ho and Jung-bae bond over their shared past in the Marines.
Lee Myung-gi is eating quietly when Thanos and Nam-gyu appear and start bothering him about the fraudulent crypto, Myung-gi declares that the fool crypto also ruined his life and he's there to make money. Thanos throws Myung-gi's food on him and Myung-gi lunges at him. Nam-gyu restrains him and the two start hitting Myung-gi and the players are shocked by the fight. Then In-ho stands up and tells the aggressors to stop fighting at mealtime, he tells them that there are elders and to mind their manners, then he adds that it's 2 against 1 and asks them if they're not ashamed. Thanos asks In-ho who he is to tell him how to behave and tells him to raise his own kids, then In-ho asks him what he said, Thanos repeats what he said and In-ho grabs him by the neck. Nam-gyu tries to stop him but In-ho kicks him in the leg and later in the chest, knocking him down. In-ho lets go of Thanos and beats him up, throwing him to the ground and choking him while threatening to punch him again. Thanos apologizes and In-ho shows mercy, causing the players to congratulate In-ho and applaud him for putting the foolish aggressors in their place.
In the night, In-ho offers to talk to Gi-hun, with both of them apologizing to each other for their argument earlier.
In-ho relays his motivations for joining the game to Gi-hun: his wife is sick with acute cirrhosis and needs a liver transplant. But when she was going through the tests, they found out she was pregnant. The doctor suggested a termination, but she wouldn’t listen, saying that she would give birth even if it kills her. They were struggling to find a donor, and her condition was getting worse. In-ho borrowed as much money as he could, but it still wasn’t enough. He was desperate. Then one of his oldest vendors heard about his situation and offered to help, so In-ho borrowed money from them. But people saw it as a bribe, and he got fired from his job, which he had devoted his entire youth to. These games are his last hope. Unbeknownst to Gi-hun, this was in fact In-ho’s real motivation for joining the games as a player years ago. However, in reality, In-ho's wife had already died by the time he won the games.
Just like in 2020, a group of Pink Guards carry out an organ trafficking operation, in which they extract the good organs of eliminated players to sell them on the black market, this time having brought a doctor themselves. Soldiers 005 and 007 arrive at the operating room and discover that the operation is going poorly because the players have been dead for too long, causing the organs to be damaged and the doctor only managed to save one player's eyes, 005 and 007 don't see any sense in the situation since they made sure not to kill some of them and the doctor tells them that someone shot them again to make sure they died, then the doctor points to Kim Nam-du and tells them that he was shot in the leg and later someone shot him in the head, then 005 realizes that it was No-eul. The Masked Officer, who has been running the games in In-ho's absence, asks to see her. The masked officer and No-eul are revealed to have known each other for about seven years. The latter refuses to back down, saying she is just putting players out of their misery.
Meanwhile, Hwang Jun-ho tries to get backing from the police to search for the island where the games are being held. The higher-up, Lee Joo-hong, refuses to believe it is true since he has no evidence. Jun-ho resigns.
During the bad weather, at the pub, Choi Woo-seok, who believed police weren't helpful, got the call from Jun-ho during the car driving to the pub, which decide to split into two teams to have chance to find the island. Woo-seok also says that Captain Park had gotten another boat, and they had also gotten more people to divide into teams. Jun-ho reminds to work fast, since they have only 5 days the most. Enters the pub, with Captain Park having a drink. Woo-seok concerned if they can sailing the following day, since the weather forecast wasn't good. Then having conversation about Squid Game, and giving the reason for Park why they brought the men, who also at the pub nearby them. Woo-seok says they were now a team, live or die together, Park tells him that how good he sailed in the past, expresses that nothing trouble happened, even no one tripped once, which makes Woo-seok believes in him.
At the start of the second game, the dalgona game, all the players stand in line to receive the triangle, the easiest shape according to Gi-hun. He gets his own metal box and opens it to show the triangle is extremely complicated and multi-layered, with many corners and sides, making it impossible to remove safely. Jung-bae then moves toward to him when find out the triangle looks difficult that even ex-marine couldn't do this, In-ho stares at him, says if that shape was supposed to be the easiest one. Geum-ja is also terrified from the shape and says Gi-hun is going to get them all killed. Some players, especially Jeong-dae, yelled at Gi-hun and forced him to take responsibility for the problem. At this point, Gi-hun wakes up from the nightmare.
Myung-gi, has a bruised face, is visited by Jun-hee. He's surprised to see her, much to Jun-hee's shock as she thought he was just trying to ignore her. It is revealed that she was also a victim of the crypto scam. Discovering that she is still pregnant, Myung-gi reprimands her as they agreed to abort it and points out she won't survive in her condition, but Jun-hee wants to give birth, and have her new life with the baby. She also says that Myung-gi is the reason she cannot leave the game thanks to his vote, and leaves him behind, much to his remorse.
Jung-bae then relies on Gi-hun, thinking that the next game is dalgona. When he gets to the second game, the announcer states the next game will be played in teams of five, Gi-hun is shocked to realise this is a different game and one he has no knowledge of. Jung-bae thought it was dalgona with team game, Jeong-dae asks if that was the dalgona game, to which Gi-hun answered it wasn't. Jeong-dae asks again what that game was, Gi-hun replies that he didn't know. This makes Jeong-dae angry at him as he said that he had played those games before and tells triangle is the easiest of dalgona. Gi-hun apologises to Jeong-dae, only makes him more frustrated as he is thought to tricked the players who wanted to continue the game because of him, yells at him how he had taken responsibility of that. In-ho stops Jeong-dae, says that was enough. The door closed as the time of team division is started. Kim Yeong-sam also believes that Gi-hun tricked them who trusted at him, eases Jeong-dae and starts find people to form the team. Jeong-dae's group leaves with their faces upset at Gi-hun.
Gi-hun apologizes to In-ho, Jung-bae and Dae-ho, but In-ho tells him that he still believes in his word and asks him to join his team, Jung-bae agrees with him and tells them to be brave, he declares that they are children's games and that they played them every day when they were little, Dae-ho agrees with Jung-bae and asks to join the team, since being together they will achieve more, Jung-bae compliments Dae-ho's courage and declares that if they're going to play, they should play a rough game like Squid Game, then In-ho mentions that they are missing 1 more player and Dae-ho offers to find someone.
Myung-gi tells Jun-hee to team up, but Jun-hee stubbornly refuses because she doesn't trust Myung-gi for ignoring her for 6 months, even though he apologizes for it and tries to protect her. Cho Hyun-ju looks for a team, then she arrives with Players 045, 286, 341 and 395 and asks if they need 1 more player, but they tell her that they are full (even though there are clearly 4), Hyun-ju leaves and meets Kim Young-mi (Player 095), Hyun-ju continues walking but then Young-mi offers Hyun-ju to team up with her. Yong-sik arrives with Players 016, 178 and 189 and asks if they need 2 more players, 016 tells him yes and that they are glad he came, then 189 asks where the other person is and Yong-sik introduces them to Geum-ja, but 016 tells Yong-sik that they look for a certain kind of people and 178 tells him to get rid of Geum-ja and that he can join, but Yong-sik tells him that she is his mother (showing that he will not abandon her) and he leaves with Geum-ja. Geum-ja tells Yong-sik to join 016, 178 and 189 and that she will find a team, but Yong-sik refuses to abandon his mother and advises her to be confident, but gets yelled at by his mother, who then hits him, like his mother back then and continues to look for people.

There are 30 seconds left, Yong-sik and Geum-ja meet Hyun-ju and Young-mi, who also want to team up, Seon-nyeo (Player 044) walks toward to them and acts rude when no one invites her to the team and joins the team.
Time runs out and the second game is revealed to be "Six-Legged Pentathlon". All five group members will walk along a circular track with their legs handcuffed together. At every ten meter mark is a different minigame to be attempted by a different member of the group. The minigames are Ddakji, Biseokchigi, Gonggi, Paengi Chigi and Jegi. The goal is to win all minigames and cross the finish line in five minutes.

The second attempt failed as she drop a stone in the final and she should play again from the beginning, Jung-bae recognised that failure then reminds Dae-ho to practice the flip. Do-yeong's side, stuck in the Flying Stone section, still failed several times, creating indignant for the whole group, as the remaining group completed the gonggi game and moved on to the next game.
