Trivia[]

  • On January 3rd, 2025 a promotional teaser was released by Netflix, but there was a potential slip-up; where after showing Young-hee and her newly introduced partner Cheol-su, a June 27, 2025 release date was shown. However, this information, along with the teaser itself, quickly disappeared from Netflix Korea's YouTube channel.[12] This was later confirmed in the official Teaser Trailer of Season 3.
  • Some of the posters are similar: Showing a worker dragging an eliminated player. Season 1 shows the Squid Game field, Season 2 shows the pentathlon arena, and Season 3 shows a "Floral ground", with Young-hee and Cheol-su's shadows can be seen.
  • Hwang Dong-hyuk will make a cameo as a minor character in Season 3.[13]
  • Released officially, Netflix posted the 35 stills for the Season 3, here are the 5 stills of Season 3's First Look:
    • The first one shows Seong Gi-hun, being handcuffed to the bards of the bed, with a player (possibly Kim Jun-hee) off-camera, while the updated prize money is being shown (The lights).
    • The second with Cho Hyun-ju, Kim Jun-hee, Jang Geum-ja, and Park Yong-sik with Team X watching, viewing a body in a Coffin, which is normally not allowed to the Players. It is revealed to be an unconscious Gi-hun, who soon wakes up from it.
    • The third one with Hwang In-ho in The Host's room, a sign that he returned to the room. His face is emotionless: He may be regretful of his actions.
    • The fourth with Kang No-eul in the island outside, a sign that she escaped. The island seems to be similar to the island where Jun-ho got captured.
    • The firth and last of the first look still, Hwang In-ho in the VIPs' room, a sign that The VIPs returned.
  • Series creator and director Dong-hyuk previously confirmed that Squid Game Season 3 is the ending of Gi-hun's story arc. However, he wasn't closing his door on the franchise. "Personally, I see the third season as being the finale to this story. That's because I believe I've had closure to the story I wanted to tell about society through the character of Seong Gi-hun"
