Player 443 was a contestant of the 37^th Squid Game.

Personality

Player 443 was a very greedy and rude old man. Because he always voted O, ignored the deaths of the other contestants and prioritized the prize money over human lives, after the Rebellion he was seen clapping and mocking Gi-hun, which clearly shows he has no morals for the people who died. When Seon-nyeo gets strangled by Gi-hun, he was sitting and watching in shock and disgust. This just shows he is a selfish and greedy man who is willing to do anything for financial gain. Also, when he looks at the seeker's blade multiple times, he feels confident and determined to stab someone easily without any remorse.

History

Player 443 was in massive debt and decided to join the Squid Games for a chance to win a huge cash prize. He called the number on the recruiting card and got into a mysterious car. He then woke up in a giant room with 454 other players. He then made his way to the center of the room and watched as many other players debts were revealed in front of him. Later on, he signed a contract and made his way up a flight of stairs to the first game.

During the first game, he was soon terrified as players were shot in front of him during the mass panic. He was able to control himself and stand still. He eventually completed the first game after listening to Gi-hun's commands. After returning to the dormitory, many players pleaded the guards to let them go. However, after a massive increase in the prize pool was revealed, many people changed their attitudes. Player 443 was one of them and decided to vote O.

Later during Six-Legged Pentathlon, Player 443 partnered up with four other players and managed to complete all 5 minigames within the 5-minute timer. After successfully completing Six-Legged Pentathlon, him and the other players held another vote. He decided to vote O again along with many other O players.

Later on, during Mingle, He managed to partner up with other players and passed all 5 rounds. After Mingle, him and the other remaining players returned to the dormitory and have a third vote. Player 443 decided to vote O again along with many other O players. This vote ends up in a tie, meaning they will vote again in the morning. Player 443 and the other players seem disappointed and move back to their beds. After the events of the bathroom fight, him and the other Os have a headcount and figure out that they have less players compared to the Xs. The other Os then decide to ambush the Xs during the night to put them ahead. Later on after the fight and Gi-hun's failed Rebellion, Player 443 voted O again during the morning vote. They end up winning the vote and continue the games further. He was seen watching Gi-hun strangle Seon-nyeo who made fun of Gi-hun's dead friends.

Later during Hide and Seek, Player 443 drawled a red ball from the gumball machine, which confirmed his role as a Seeker. The manager later explains that him and his team would have to kill at least 1 hider in order to pass the game. Later when the guards allow them to switch teams, He decided not to switch with a hider and kept his red vest. After the timer to hide finishes, Player 443 and the others Seekers make their way into the maze. After making his way into the maze, Player 443 ran into the maze, ready to kill a Hider to pass the Game.

Fate

Player 443 did not kill any hiders in time, meaning he was shot to death by the Soldiers. He placed 33rd-26th along with the other failed Seekers who were killed off screen.

Trivia

• Out of the Seekers who died off screen, Player 191, Player 359, and Player 443 were the only ones who were not consistently shown in the background since Red Light Green Light.
• He, Player 344, Player 192 and Kim Yun-Tae are the only O voters to not laugh at Dae-ho.
• While Player 191 and 202 had a player with a higher number (192 and 203) who managed to pass Hide and Seek unlike them, in the case of Player 442 and 443 it was the other way around.
• It's possible he was the seeker who would kill Player 185 if she survived the Special Game, but this hasn't been confirmed.
• His number reciprocal, Player 344, were both members of Team O and died in the exact same game.
• He is the only non-recuring player in season three that doesn't do/wasn't planned to do anything of significance/remembrance (he shares this with Player 191, but he was planned to make it to Jump Rope).
