Player 400 is a contestant of the Squid Game in 2024.

History

Not much is known about Player 400 before entering the 2024 Squid Games but it was clear that she struggling with a significant amount of debt. As a result this caused her to be recruited by The Recruiter to participate in the Games. Player 400 was also a fan of the famous rapper Thanos and presumably attended most or all of his concerts.

She survived Red Light, Green Light (game) and on the Six-Legged Pentathlon, she successfully played Gong-gi for her team. After surviving Mingle, During the Special Game she was attacked and grabbed but she was luckily able to fight off her attacker and counterattack him, making him back off, she survived the Special Game and chose not to participate on Seong Gi-Hun's Revolt. Differently from her idol Thanos, she voted X every round.

Fate

Despite the horror and difficulty of every game, she survives and is alive. After lights out, she is seen standing behind Player 007. Next to Player 134 and Player 105.

• Player 400 and Player 418 are the highest-placing Thanos' unnamed fans.

Behind the scenes

Player 400 is portrayed by Nam Ji-hyun. MBC Academy, an acting school in Seoul, made an Instagram post celebrating Ji-hyun’s successful casting into Squid Game. It also stated her role to be "이대녀", a phrase that generally refers to a young woman, particularly someone in her twenties.
