Player 324 was a contestant of the 33rd Squid Game in 2020. He was the first contestant to be eliminated from the game.

Personality[]

Player 324 was a laid-back individual. He didn't seem too concerned over waking up in an unknown place, instead choosing to goof around like a person on vacation. He would even make bets with his friend, Player 250, on who would win the first game. This would lead to his death and elimination.

Although he seemed to be unaware of his possible death, he still didn't take the games very seriously as he should've because if he lost then he would be dead. Despite the fact that if he won, he could have been freed from his debts.

History[]

Player 324 was in heavy debt and chose to enter the Squid Games in order to win large amounts of money. He was picked up and taken to the island where the games take place. After waking up in the Squid Game lobby, he chose to remain and participate in the games.

While being led through the Squid Game complex, Player 324 remarked to Player 250 about how big the entire place was. While getting his photo taken, he made a silly pose in which he stuck out his tongue and made V-signs with his fingers before the camera went off. He was then pushed out of the way by Player 250 when he tried to have his photo retaken.

Player 324 was then taken to a large open area for the first game, along with all of the other players. He then noticed a large animatronic doll on the other side of the arena and pointed it out to Player 250, remarking that it had a huge head. When the game was revealed to be Red Light, Green Light, the pair expressed disbelief and wondered if they were being serious. He then made a ₩1 million bet with Player 250 for who would make it to the end first.

Fate[]

When the doll turned around for the first Green Light, Player 324 pushed Player 250, and both ran forward as fast as they could. Unfortunately, Player 324 lost his balance on Red Light and was unable to catch himself before the doll detected his movements. He was then shot with a sniper, becoming the first player to be eliminated from the game. He placed 456th, or last place in the 33rd Squid Game overall. Player 250 thought it was an act. Then he came up to him to make sure that he didn't put on a show and get up. Player 324 then coughed up blood onto the ground, making Player 250's expression become serious, realizing elimination means death.

Player 250 then begins running towards the exits, only to get shot in the chest. Player 250's blood then splattered onto Player 306's face, who screamed before getting shot in the head. These deaths led to the chain outbreak, where lots of players started running towards the exits trying to escape, only to get shot as well.

Mistakes[]

  • Player 324's icon is shown to be in the middle of several other icons even though it should be on the left edge of the portrait grid, given its layout.
  • The female 324 in Dormitory before Red Light Green Light

Behind the scenes[]

Player 324 was portrayed by Lee Han-sol. A female Player 324 was portrayed by an uncredited female actress when the players were shown the piggy bank after Gi-hun asks how much they would get if they won all six games.

Lee Han-sol, who has black hair in real life, got his hair dyed yellow specifically for the part.

  1. Given that Cho Sang-woo was dropped off in the early morning hours of June 11 after the first game ended, it can be assumed that Red Light, Green Light took place no later than June 9 or 10, as the 33rd Squid Game is known to have started soon after Seong Ga-yeong's birthday on June 8.
