Player 249 was a participant in the Squid Games that took place in 2024.

Background

Player 249, like the other contestants, joined the Squid Games due to being in significant debt. He managed to survive the first two games, and when the vote to decide whether to end or continue the game took place, he chose to continue both times.

In the penultimate round of Mingle, a struggle ensued between him and another group of players who had to find a room for six. While he successfully got inside the room in time, he pushed other players out (051, 073), hitting Young-mi and indirectly causing her death in the process.

He was ultimately killed off-screen after he couldn't find a room in the final round
