You sad lost soul. What would you say about everybody who was nailed to the cross for our salvation today? They sacrificed themselves for us. We are here, thanks to their blood. I pray to the Lord on behalf of all us sinners. I gave thanks for their sacrifice. God made a decision to help our team win. That's why we're all here.

Player 244 to Ji-yeong in "A Fair World"

Player 244 was a contestant in the 33rd Squid Game in 2020, where he became a member of Seong Gi-hun's team. He is noted to be a very religious Christian and frequently prays to God.

History[]

Player 244 was in heavy debt and chose to enter a high-risk competition to win money. After waking up in a large room with 455 other people, he signed a contract and took his photo. He managed to survive the first game, Red Light Green Light, after most of the contestants had been wiped out. Afterwards, like everyone else, he was shaken by the deaths of the contestants, when the prize money was finally revealed. A vote was held if the game should continue, but the majority voted no. However, those who were willing to return could, and he returned, along with most of the other players.

He managed to survive the second game, Sugar Honeycombs. Before the third game, Tug of War, Seong Gi-hun (Player 456) offered Player 244 to join his team and 244 joined Team 4 alongside Gi-hun, Cho Sang-woo (Player 218), Ali Abdul (Player 199), Kang Sae-byeok (Player 067), Oh Il-nam (Player 001), Ji-yeong (Player 240), Han Mi-nyeo (Player 212), Player 196 and Player 276. Team 4 faced Team 5 and thanks to Il-nam's strategy and Sang-woo's last-minute trick, they managed to win.

After Tug of War, 244 prayed to God to thank him that the team managed to survive, but Ji-yeong mocked that 244 thanks God for being alive and stated that it was thanks to Il-nam and Sang-woo that they were still alive, 244 declared that God chose for them to live on and told her to thank him. Back in the lobby, Player 244 and Player 196 noticed that their team was the weakest and both suggested to attack another weak team.

He partnered with Player 196, in the fourth game Marbles and survived until the fifth game, Glass Stepping Stones. For the game, he chose the number 6, which meant he would be the sixth to go.

Fate[]

Thank you. God bless me today.

Player 244's last words before dying in "VIPS"

When it was Player 021's turn, he told him to go right while Players 453 and 151, told him to go left. 021 decided to go left and as a result, got eliminated. When it was Player 244's turn he started praying. Player 151 forced Player 244 to do something or else he would get pushed. 151 in response tried to push him off, but failed to do so and was pushed off by Player 244. Player 244 grinned from finding the right glass panel. He jumped onto that panel and started to pray again to thank his lord. Player 407 wasted no time to push 244 to the incorrect panel resulting in Player 244's death.

  1. Assuming the remaining games all occurred on consecutive days after the Squid Games resumed, Glass Stepping Stones most likely took place on June 29, with the final game happening on June 30.

His player number may be a reference to Daniel 2:44 that states, "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever." The kingdom referring to the squid games.
