Uh, so, where's the other guy?
Player 189 to Park Yong-sik in "Six Legs"
Player 189 was a contestant of the Squid Game in 2024. He appears in "Six Legs".
History[]
Prior to Squid Game, Player 189 was presumably in heavy debt and joined the games as a result. He was picked up and sedated by Squid Game staff and transported to the island. There, he signed a consent form and entered the games.
Player 189 survived Red Light, Green Light. He voted "X" but remained in the games after a narrow majority of the players voted to continue. He went on to the second game, where the players were instructed to form teams of five. He initially grouped up with Player 016 and Player 178, and they were approached by Park Yong-sik, who asked to join with another person. Player 189 was welcoming to him and asked who the other person was. Yong-sik then revealed that his partner was his mother, Jang Geum-ja. His team rejected them after this and continued searching.
Eventually, the group recruited Player 416 and Jang Do-yeong to be part of their team. The game was then revealed to be Six-Legged Pentathlon. Their team was the first group to race on the right-side track, and they decided upon Player 189 playing jegi.
Fate[]
Due to his teammate Jang Do-yeong's repeated failure to hit the stone in Biseokchigi, Player 189's team ran out of time to finish the race, and he was gunned down and eliminated along with everyone else.
