Player 172 to Park Yong-sik in "O X"
Player 172 was a man who participated in the Squid Game competition that was held in 2024. He appears in "O X".
History[]
Player 172 was presumably in large amounts of debt and decided to join the Squid Games in order to win money. He managed to survive the first two games, Red Light, Green Light, and Six-Legged Pentathlon. He was shocked by the deaths and decided to vote to stop the games after both games.
During the third round of Mingle, when the players had to form groups of 3, 172 teamed up with Player 220 and searched for 1 more player, desperate, 172 and 220 grabbed Park Yong-sik (Player 007) and took him with them, leaving Jang Geum-ja (Player 149 and Yong-sik's mother) alone, fortunately Geum-ja was saved by Seong Gi-hun (Player 456) and Hwang In-ho (Player 001).
After Mingle, he voted for X once again. He can be seen cheering when In-ho voted to end the games and tied the vote.
After the bathroom fight and the headcount, Player 172 went to sleep completely unaware of the another fight that was about to begin. He, like everyone else on Team X, was caught completely off guard. Player 172 was chased by Player 116 and they got into a fight. Fortunately, Player 172 was able to grab either a fork or a broken glass bottle from Player 116’s hands and use it to stab and kill him in self-defense.
During the Season 3 teaser photos, he is seen with another player on the picture where a coffin is in the middle.
During the teaser video for the third season, it is shown that player 172 will join the blue team for the fourth game. It is also revealed that he changed his vote to O.
