Player 116 was a contestant in the 33rd Squid Game.

History[]

Player 116 was in heavy debt and joined the Squid Games in order to win money to pay off those debts. He was picked up and sedated by Squid Game staff and taken to the island where the games take place. After waking up and leaving his bunk, Player 116 witnessed the fight between Kang Sae-byeok and Jang Deok-su prior to the first game.

Player 116 managed to survive Red Light, Green Light, after most of the contestants were wiped out. Afterwards, when a vote was held to determine whether to continue the games or not, he presumably voted to end them, as he was later shown celebrating after Oh Il-nam cast the tie-breaking vote to terminate the games. He was sent home along with the rest of the players but returned when the games later resumed, along with 186 others.

Fate[]

Player 116 accidentally broke his shape, causing him to be shot by a guard.

Error[]

Player 116 was seen fighting with an unknown player. Presumably was killed in the night riot.

Mistakes[]

  • Player 116 is shown to be a bald, elderly man in "Red Light, Green Light" and later a man with brown hair in "The Man with the Umbrella": The brown-haired actor portrayed Player 157 in Episode 1 while the players were signing a contract, and in Episode 3 Player 116. This is most likely a mistake on the casting director's part.

Behind the scenes[]

Player 116 was portrayed by at least two unknown extras.
