Hey!
Player 080 to Kim Jeong-rae as his bag gets checked in "Bread and Lottery"
Player 080 was a contestant of the 37th Squid Game.
Personality[]
Player 080, like most members from Team X, is a strong, resilient and a willing man who fights for freedom and was very strong by defending himself from a Team O member and used his strength to overpower him, which makes him very strong and loyal towards his Team X allies.
He is also noted to be a man who has qualities of reservedness, a trait shared with his fellow friend Player 105. He doesn't speak much or voice out his thoughts throughout the games. And he also has good self-control, since after the Special Game, he was seen with a quite relaxed face.
History[]
"Bread and Lottery"[]
Player 080 was first seen on a train that is currently having a ride to a specific location. On the train, while Mr. Kim and Woo-seok were searching for The Recruiter, they mistakenly suspected Player 080 as him and searched his bag without asking. Alarmed, Player 080 tried to take his bag back, but Woo-seok forced him into his seat while Mr. Kim assured him he would check quickly.
"001"[]
Like the other players, he was heavily in debt for unknown causes and decided to participate in the Squid Games. He woke up in the dormitory oblivious to the fact he was unknowingly abducted by the Squid Game staff, and after the manager explained the rules of the games and the vote, he signed the consent form, took his icon photo, and made his way to the first game, Red Light, Green Light. At first, like most of the players, he was skeptical of Gi-hun’s warnings, but once the game began he quickly followed his advice and managed not to panic during the initial chaos caused by Mi-na’s death. Even so, he was shaken and stood still for several rounds. Eventually, after listening to more of Gi-hun’s guidance and warnings, he and the other players started moving again and forming lines. He ended up at the front of one line, unintentionally blocking the players behind him from being scanned by Young-hee, and because of this he was one of the first to cross the finish line and survive the game with effortless grace. After returning to the dormitory, Player 080 was traumatized by what he had just experienced in this new place, and his fear only grew when the staff re-entered the room. However, his attention soon shifted when the prize money from the first game was added to the money bank. After an explanation of how the prize pool was distributed, the first vote was held. Player 080 chose to leave the games and even chanted at In-ho (disguised as Player 001) to also vote for X. He was distraught when In-ho voted O, ensuring the games would continue. Later, after eating his first meal, Player 080 watched as Myung-gi was beaten up by Thanos and Nam-gyu, then saw the two effortlessly taken down by In-ho, which he applauded him for alongside the rest of the dormitory. That night, he went to sleep in the dormitory for the first time.
"Six Legs" & "One More Game"[]
The next day, Player 080 made his way to the second game, Six-Legged Pentathlon. After receiving instructions, he spent the next ten minutes searching for teammates and another five discussing with his group, which consisted of Player 393, Player 347, Player 350, and Player 339. He then observed as other teams either succeeded or failed, notably watching Myung-gi’s team leave the game hall after surviving. When it was finally their turn, playing just before Teams 72 and 73, his team managed to complete all of the mini-games within the time limit and safely returned to the dormitory, surviving the game. After witnessing the prize money from the second game being added to the bank, the second vote was held. Player 080 voted X once again and watched as In-ho had an outburst about the games continuing. His efforts were in vain, however, as the Os won the vote again, this time by a convincing margin. He then ate his second meal and went to sleep for the second Lights Out.
"O X"[]
On the third day, he made his way to the third game, Mingle. After five stressful and chaotic rounds, he managed to get into rooms with the correct number of players each time, becoming one of the final 100 players. Notably, in the third round, he formed a group with Player 111 and Player 131 and was seen leading them to a room between Geum-ja and Yong-sik while Geum-ja was being dragged away from his mother by Players 172 and 220. Additionally, in the fourth round he was seen exiting Room 40 with Player 113, Player 116, Player 259, Player 334 and Player 431. Player 080 then returned to the dormitory while chatting with Player 320, and the two continued talking until the prize money from the third game was added and the third vote began. He voted X for the third time, and despite seven Os switching their votes to X, the result ended in a 50:50 tie because Mi-hwa changed her vote to O, much to Player 080’s disappointment. This meant that a tiebreaker vote would be held the next day. While eating his third meal, a confrontation between the Os and Xs broke out, and Player 080 joined in, yelling at the Os for keeping everyone trapped in the games. He didn't go to the bathroom after the argument calmed down.
"Friend or Foe"[]
Later, he was surprised to hear that a fight had erupted in the male bathroom, which led to the deaths of five players. After a headcount among the Xs, they realized they had lost two of their own in the fight while the Os had lost three, meaning that if all the Xs voted the same way again, they would finally be able to leave, a possibility that left Player 080 pleased and glad at leaving this place. However, he was unaware of the O's desperate plan to continue the games by killing those who wanted them to end. After the third Lights Out, the Os crept over and began the Special Game, attacking Player 080 and the other Xs in their sleep. Despite the surprise assault, Player 080 managed to survive and fend off his attackers, notably Player 358 and one of whom was Player 376, who he would afterwards kill in retaliation. Not long after, he got into a fight with Player 348 and Player 418, which was broken up when the guards stormed into the dormitory, holding him and his attackers at gunpoint to end the violence. Neither he nor the staff expected Gi-hun’s group to stage a revolt, and a gunfight quickly broke out. Player 080 hid to avoid the gunfire and only came out when Gi-hun assured everyone it was safe, watching as both Gi-hun and Jung-bae rallied the surviving players to join their fight against the games’ organizers. Despite this, Player 080 chose not to join the revolt and remained in the dormitory as the revolters left. During the chaos, he saw Dae-ho return to the dorm to collect more ammo and then watched Hyun-ju come back to search for him after Dae-ho, too frightened, failed to bring the supplies. Player 080 was last seen being ordered to the ground by a manager when the staff re-entered the dormitory following the revolt’s failure.
"Keys and Knives"[]
Post-rebellion, Player 080 was seen in the dormitory after the Workers carried in and dropped a coffin containing Seong Gi-hun, who was still unconscious at the time, and later watched as he woke up. During the re-vote, Player 080 continued to vote X despite his side being severely outnumbered following the Special Game and Gi-hun's failed rebellion. Prior to the fourth game, Player 080 drew a red ball from the gumball machine, placing him on the Red Team for the next game, Hide and Seek, where he would be required to kill a hider to pass.
Fate[]
Player 080 was not seen after Hide and Seek, meaning he was shot to death by the soldiers or killed by an unknown hider. If shot to death by the Soldiers, then he placed 33rd-26th along with the other failed Seekers who were killed off screen.

Trivia[]
- As of the end of Season Two, Player 080 was one of the only remaining background characters who have consistently appeared throughout, with the others being Players 009, 024, 028, 048, 105, 119, 134, 154, 197, 310, 334, 344, 350, 394, 400, 418, 435, and 448.
- Player 080 was the only unnamed player to make his first appearance in the episode “Bread and Lottery”, as confirmed by his actor in the comment section below.
- He is one of the only "X" voters known to have killed at least "O" voter during the Special Game. He shares this feat alongside Players 102, 134, 197, 359, and 431.
- Player 080's hair grew drastically throughout the games, due to recording taking place over many months.
- He is the only player whose number is completely symmetrical not counting Season 1 Player 080 for a reason.
- Player 080 is the only Seeker to never be seen in the actual maze of Hide and Seek due to his last appearance in the lobby room.
- His player number, 80, when added to his victim's number, 376, makes it 456.
- There were rumours that Player 172 killed Player 080 in hide and seek, supported by male screams at a specific timestamp in the Starry Night episode and an Instagram screenshot showing Player 080’s actor saying he was killed by a hider. However, this was debunked: Player 172 had no knife that he supposedly took from Player 080, Player 080 was stronger, and the Instagram screenshot was AI.
- Player 080 might have convinced Player 048 to switch his vote to X after hide and seek if he survived it, as they were seen talking for a long time before the game started.
- Its safe to assume that Player 080 was an office worker or a businessman, as he was seen with a suit and a bag with a folder in it on his way to work before entering the game.
- Player 080 looked severely sleep deprived before hide and seek, this was likely one of the causes why he failed to kill somebody, apart from Myung-gi and Nam-gyu reducing the amount of hiders.
- Just like Player 084, Player 080 disappeared in one of the games. Coincidentally, both their numbers were in the 080's range.
Mistakes[]
- A female Player 080 is seen watching other teams play during the Six-Legged Pentathlon.
- Player 080 vanishes after entering the maze and does not appear in "The Starry Night," likely a contract error, he was likely set to act in 6 epsiodes untill his characters death in Hide & Seek, but appeared in the first epsiode of season 2, so he could not appear in epsiode 2 of season 3.
Behind the scenes[]
Player 080 was portrayed by Jang Dae-hyun and an unknown extra.
