Player 050, like the other contestants, joined the Squid Games due to being in significant debt. He, along with 364 other contestants, made it past the first game. During the vote on whether to discontinue or continue the game, he voted to continue the games. After the players were told to form teams of five for the second game, Player 050 teamed up with Player 241, Player 249, Player 313 and Player 333, Lee Myung-gi. When it was announced that the game was Six-Legged Pentathlon, the team decided on Player 050 playing Biseokchigi. The group managed to complete all five mini-games within the time limit and survived the game. In the second round of voting, held after the second game, Player 050 changed his vote to X, however those in favour of continuing the games won again with an overwhelming majority.

For the third game, Mingle, he formed a group of five players in the first round, including Player 418 and Player 419. When it was announced that the players had to get into groups of 10, Player 050 asked Seong Gi-hun's group if they had five players. However, before Gi-hun and his team could answer, Player 313, also with a group of five players, whisked him and his group away. After surviving the first round, Player 050 continued to linger around Player 313. When it was announced that players had to get into groups of 4, they remained together and were joined by Player 238. However, they were unable to find a fourth player in time so the three of them hid in a room. When they survived the initial onslaught, they thought that they were safe. However, a manager saw this on the camera, and reported it. This caused a soldier to come and shoot them all through a hole in the door.
