History[]
Player 038 is deeply in debt and sees the high-stakes competition as a last chance to win a life-changing amount of money. Like many others in the game, he is driven by desperation to escape his financial burdens. After being recruited, he wakes up in a large, unfamiliar room with 455 other players. This disorienting experience sets the stage for the tension and fear that permeates the competition. Upon arrival, he witnesses a confrontation between two other players, Jang Deok-su and Kang Sae-byeok. This fight highlights the underlying tensions and desperation among participants, showcasing the hostile environment of the game. He signs a contract agreeing to the rules of the game and poses for a photo, officially entering the first game called Red Light, Green Light. Despite the initial chaos that ensued after the [[Red Light, Green Light (33rd Squid Game) |first game]]'s rules were revealed, including the shocking deaths of Player 324 and Player 250, Player 038 managed to keep his composure. He ran strategically, making it to the finish line and successfully passing through the game as many contestants were eliminated around him.
Following the game, Player 038 was deeply affected by the loss of fellow contestants, grappling with the weight of their deaths. When a vote was held to decide whether to continue the games, the staff voted to discontinue the games, leading to their temporary return home. After returning to his hometown, Player 038 found it hard to adjust to life outside the competition. When the opportunity to re-enter the games arose, he chose to return, motivated by the hope of winning the grand prize.

In Sugar Honeycombs, he was supposed to carve out his shape from a piece of dalgona, but he made a mistake and failed, resulting in his execution by a guard.

- Many people mistaken Player 038 of dying in Tug of War by being in Team Three, but it was clearly actually revealed to be Player 330.
