Player 004 was a participant in the Squid Game that took place in 2024.

History

Player 004 was a fan of Thanos and presumably attended most or all of his concerts. In 2024, he was in heavy financial stress and chose to enter the Squid Games as a result.

While he was queueing to take his photo, Player 256 recognised Player 230 as the famed rapper Thanos, who Player 004 was a fan of. Several players, including Player 004, the ran up to Thanos to take a photo with him. However, a guard informed the players that they would each have to take their photos individually, disappointing all of them, particularly Player 004. However, Thanos then promised to take photos with each and every one of them after they'd made it out of the games, after which they all left.

He, along with 364 other contestants, made it past the first game. During the vote on whether to end or continue the game, when Player 004 had yet to vote, Gi-hun announced to everyone that he was a former player. Although Player 004 was afraid of dying and had initially planned to vote to discontinue the games, he reconsidered his decision and voted to continue the games, thinking he could survive just one more game with Gi-hun's knowledge. As Players 002 and 003 had been eliminated in Red Light, Green Light, he was the second last player to vote in the first round of voting.

The following morning, he was among the group of players, led by Player 100 and Player 226, who approached Gi-hun for knowledge on the second game, where he agreed with Player 001 that the only reason he'd voted to continue the games was Gi-hun. He was grateful for the knowledge but was dismayed when Gi-hun told the crowd that he would relay this information to the rest of the players if the second game was confirmed to be dalgona, after which Player 004 and the rest of the crowd dispersed.

When he stepped into the arena for the second game, it was announced that the players were to form teams. Realising that they were not going to play dalgona, Player 004 appeared to be reconsidering his vote. He was among the crowd of players gathered around Gi-hun, looking at him as though he'd betrayed them. He dispersed along with the rest of the crowd after Player 001 intervened and Player 226 told Player 100 to leave. He formed a team with Players 167, 412, 204 and 437, and was seen discussing with them not long before the timer ran out. When it was announced that they would be playing Six-Legged Pentathlon, the team decided on Player 004 playing Ddakji. However, the team failed to complete the games within the five minute time limit and were gunned down as a result.

• Player 004 is the only one of Thanos' unnamed fan that died in Six-Legged Pentathlon.
