Na-yeon giving Kang No-eul a drawing of them together
Park Na-yeon (박나연 Bag Na-yeon?) is the young daughter of Park Gyeong-seok. She suffers from a severe blood cancer and is the primary motivator for her father entering the Squid Games.
History[]
Na-yeon spends a lot of time in an amusement park, where Gyeong-seok works as a painter in order to make ends meet. Due to her recurring cancer, she spends lots of time in the hospital receiving treatment as well. She is in need of a bone marrow transplant.
One day, while out watching a parade, Na-yeon forms a connection with a performer in a rabbit costume, who gives her a lollipop. After the parade, she finds her way into the dressing room where the performers are resting and walks up to the rabbit performer, Kang No-eul, to give her a drawing of them together. While the other performers act in character as cover, another performer walks in with his head off, swearing about how much he dislikes his job. She begins crying after seeing him, despite the performers' attempts to console her, and Gyeong-seok comes in to find her shortly after, apologizing to the performers before leaving.
Na-yeon attends the parade again soon after, but is ignored by the rabbit performer, who, unbeknownst to her, was being played by one of No-eul's coworkers. She later collapses from her illness and is brought to an ambulance, which is witnessed by Gyeong-seok, who rushes to her side, as well as No-eul.
In order to cover an expensive experimental medical treatment, her father decides to join the Squid Game, seeing this as Na-yeon's only hope for survival. While in the hospital, she is also visited by No-eul, who returns a strawberry hat worn by her.
