Lee Joo-sil was a South Korean film, television and theatre actress. She portrayed the supporting character of Park Mal-soon, who is Hwang Jun-ho's mother in Season 2 of the South Korean dystopian survival thriller action television series Squid Game.[4]

Lee was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993 but recovered ten years later.[5] She died from stomach cancer at her family's home in Uijeongbu, on February 2, 2025, at the age of 80[6], having been diagnosed with the disease three months prior.[7]
