"Knock-knock, who is there? Your little friend, come on in."
The dolls singing in "It's Not Your Fault"
Jump Rope (줄넘기 Julneomgi?) was the fifth game of the Squid Game competition in 2024, which appeared in Season 3. It featured Young-hee and Cheol-su, a railroad theme, a jump rope, and a flower-themed abyss at the bottom of the arena.
To pass this game, players must cross the narrow bridge within 20 minutes, while also jumping to avoid the rotating swinging metal rope, which increases in speed as time passes. There's also a gap in the middle of the bridge, which adds the difficulty of the game. Players may decide the order amongst themselves.
Notable eliminations in this game include Player 096, Player 124, and Player 222.
Methods to win[]
- Do not panic since the game is less about physical strength but is all about human's emotion to either panic or stay calm.
- A misconception that using four limbs to balance will keep you balanced but it turns out it makes you far less capable of staying balanced due to the high center of gravity. It is advisable to stay on two feet since players will have less of a center of gravity to balance themselves on.
- It is better to be ahead of most Players considering that the Rope speeds up as the Timer ticks down, as well as being able to get rid of the potential threat of the Players behind you attempting to push you out of desperation because it wouldn't take as much time for them to make it across the bridge with the timer ticking down.
- You can hear the rope creaking when it accelerates downwards, so you know the position of the rope if not able to see.

Trivia[]
- Player 084 is the only player to not have his elimination announced.
- Kim Jun-hee was the only contestant on Jump Rope to be eliminated without stepping on the bridge.
- There was supposed to be another player (including Kim Jun-hee's baby): Jang Geum-ja (Player 149), but she killed herself after losing her son in Hide and Seek.
- Early on in teasers for season 3, fans speculated this game to be both Dong Dong Dongdaemun, as well as Why Did You Come to My House. This is due to the railroaded imagery for the former, and the flower floor for the latter.
- Lee Jung-jae accidentally spoiled he would be crossing the bridge while holding the baby in an interview before season 3 came out.
- Due to safety reasons, the metal rope was later added in post as revealed in an interview with the cast.
- The lower-half of each of the dolls were built practically and the upper half was added in CGI.
- The rope is rotated by metal anchors attached to motors on the ceiling, which move faster as the timer goes down.
- The song that the dolls sing at the beginning of the game consists of steps that are done when playing this game traditionally, including stepping inside, turning around, touching the floor, hopping on one foot, and exiting successfully.
- Director Hwang Dong-hyuk states that this game represents Young-hee travelling over to Cheol-su's house, who waits for her outside. He says Young-hee is in her best outfit for this visit.
- This game lasts for a total of 25 minutes worth of screentime. This is also the same amount of players who passed the last game and were supposed to participate in this game.
