Do you think it's easy to get a ten-billion-won loan? They don't lend that kind of money to just anyone! You have to work in the big leagues for that!
Im Jeong-dae (임정대 Im Jeong-dae?), also known as Player 100, is a contestant of the Squid Game in 2024. A cynical and manipulative old man, he acts as a secondary antagonist toward Seong Gi-hun, repeatedly rallying the players into continuing the games.
Personality[]
He is an aggressive old man who constantly demands players to continue the games. He showcases immense greed, willing to argue and convince others to continue playing for his own benefit. Furthermore, he is quick to judge others like he did with Seong Gi-hun. In addition, he is shown to value money over human lives, as after the second game, he was disappointed that so many people were still alive, reducing the share of the money available in the prize. He is shown to be capable of rallying groups, getting half of the contestants to vote "O" on at least one occasion.
History[]
Backstory[]
Presumably a businessman of significant repute,[1] Im Jeong-dae took out a loan totaling ₩10 billion won and was unable to convert it into profit, putting him in deep debt. With few options, he decided to participate in the Squid Games.
He was one of the many players to have their names and amounts of debt called out in front of players; as expected, this led to a plethora of reactions among the contestants, none positive. This caused him to erupt in front of the players to gloat about the fact he was able to pull off a ₩10 billion loan, owing to his business background.

Player 100 and player 226 are in line to sign a contract to participate in the games
Squid Game[]
He played Red Light, Green Light as the first challenge. He took no notice of Seong Gi-hun warning of the consequences of getting eliminated until people started dying around him. All the players eventually followed Gi-hun orders and formed multiple straight lines to avoid being caught by the motion-tracking system of Young-hee. The player in front of him, Player 237, got shot but he was able to survive the first challenge. When the surviving players went back to the lobby, Jeong-dae hid underneath the bed, he stayed in place until the prize money was shown for winning the first game. He can always be seen in the company of Kim Yeong-sam (Player 226). During the voting, Gi-hun tried to convince the players to vote "X" since if they kept playing they would die and Jeong-dae started to question him because he kept talking during the game, he even accuses the Pink Guards of putting Gi-hun in the game to scare them, but Park Jung-bae (Player 390) tells the bitter old man to shut up and that thanks to Gi-hun they managed to survive the game.
When Gi-hun reveals he's been in the games before and Thanos (Player 230) suggests using his experience, Jeong-dae tries to convince everyone to have Gi-hun help them win. He celebrated the continuation of the games with Player 240.
For the second game he partnered with Kim Yeong-sam, Player 023, Player 285 and Player 428. Im Jeong-dae was tasked on completing Jegi. His team completed the games and headed back to the dormitory. When Gi-hun's team came back, he was disappointed that more people passed the second challenge making the prize money smaller. When the voting took place for the second time, he convinced players to join his side to continue the games. He got a crowd to chant "One more game".
During Mingle, he's shown during the 6 people limit, where Im Jeong-dae and Kim Yeong-sam push out Kang Dae-ho and his group out as they already had 6 players at their location. He survived the third game. When 2 people were required per door, he went to a door with his ally Kim Yeong-sam.
Once the third game was finished, a vote was held and the result was a tie. Im Jeong-dae and the players who voted to continue games sat with each other for the remainder of the day. When a fight took place at the bathroom, he wanted to know how many people died on his side and the other. Once they completed counting, they devised a plan to take out players who voted to leave. The lights of the dormitory went out and his side slowly crept up to their opponents. More players from "X"'s side were taken out. After the special game, his jacket is stained with blood, meaning he presumably killed someone. The special game also was from Gi-hun's plan to start a riot and steal the Soldiers' guns.
Trivia[]
