Gyeong-su (경수 Gyeong-su?), also known as Player 256, was a contestant of the Squid Game in 2024.

Backstory[]
Gyeong-su was a fan of Thanos, having attended all of his concerts. He eventually got into heavy debt and decided to participate in the Squid Games.
Squid Game[]
Listen, I'm Gyeong-su. I'm a huge fan. I go to all your concerts. Would it be okay if you and I took a picture?
When the players were taking their identification pictures, he recognized Thanos. After he brought up Thanos's identity, many players including him gathered to get in Thanos's picture. However, a guard prevented the group from taking the image together and they were forced back in line, with Thanos promising everyone he would take a picture with them once they got out. He survived the first game, Red Light, Green Light passing at the same time as Nam-gyu, Lee Myung-gi and Cho Hyun-ju. He voted O and was seen among those cheering as the O's won the vote. He later joined Thanos's team to participate in the second game, Six-Legged Pentathlon, convincing Se-mi and Park Min-su. He was in charge of Ddakji, and his team survived the game.
In the lobby, he sat with his new team members, and one of them, Nam-gyu, tried to force Min-su to count the remaining players. This was stopped by Se-mi, resulting in an argument between the two players. Thanos intervened to ask the ages of their group and Gyeong-su was revealed to be the youngest, born in 1998. Afterwards, Gyeong-su and his team voted O again. In the bathroom, Gyeong-su was with Thanos and Nam-gyu as they confronted Myung-gi for switching his vote, although he makes no attempt to bully, harass or intimidate him unlike his teammates. He even snickers as Myung-gi insults him for forgetting his lyrics once.

During the second round of Mingle, it's announced that the number is 4. Thanos quickly thinks about which members of his team to choose and Gyeong-su tries to beg him to choose him, then Thanos yells Gyeong-su that he is off the team, kicks him and yells Nam-gyu, Min-su and Se-mi to run, Thanos and Nam-gyu run and Min-su worries about Gyeong-su, but Se-mi grabs Min-su's arm and they run. Thanos, Nam-gyu, Min-su and Se-mi arrive at Room 41 and save themselves from dying.
When time is up, Min-su, worried, asks Nam-gyu what happened to Gyeong-su, to which Nam-gyu, angrily, punches Min-su in the chest and tells him that if he ever talks to him like a friend again, he'll be the next to die. Then Thanos (after the drug he took wears off) asks where Gyeong-su is, the Soldiers start shooting at the players who stayed outside and Thanos realizes that he left Gyeong-su outside. Thanos pushes Nam-gyu, looks horrified through the peephole and screams Gyeong-su's name, Gyeong-su is shot in the chest and is killed along with the other eliminated players.

Behind the scenes[]
Gyeong-su was portrayed by Kang Sung-wook.
In an interview, Kang Sung-wook said that Gyeong-su is a hip-hop fan from the Hongdae neighbourhood of Seoul. He also stated if Gyeong-su won the games, he would've spent the money recklessly or released a new hip-hop album with it.[4]
