Gong-gi 20241228 164340

Gonggi or Gongginori (공기 Gonggi?), also known as Korean Jacks or Knucklebones, is a traditional mini-game featured in the Six-Legged Pentathlon.

In this game, the player must toss a single gonggi stone (generally made of plastic with pebbles inside for weight) into the air, pick up another, and catch the tossed stone. The challenge increases as the player progresses, requiring them to pick up additional stones with each round.

  • Level 1: Scatter the stones. Throw one stone in the air and pick up the remaining four stones, one at a time.
  • Level 2: Scatter the stones. Throw one stone in the air and pick up the remaining four stones, two at a time.
  • Level 3: Scatter the stones. Throw one stone in the air and pick up three stones. Then, throw one stone again, and pick up the remaining one.
  • Level 4: Throw one stone in the air, drop the remaining four stones to the table, and catch the airborne stone. Then, throw the same stone again and pick up all four stones.
  • Level 5: Throw all five stones into the air, flip your hand over, and catch them on the back of your hand. Then, throw the stones from the back of your hand and catch them. The ultimate goal is to catch all five stones.

If the player missed any stones, they have to restart from the beginning, regardless of the level they've passed.

The game tests both precision and coordination, making it a critical challenge in the Six-Legged Pentathlon.
