Gong Ji-cheol (Korean: 공지철; born July 10, 1979), better known by his stage name Gong Yoo (Korean: 공유), is the actor who portrayed The Recruiter in the television series Squid Game.
Background[]
Originally, Gong Yoo was not going to be part of Squid Game, because when the director invited him, he was very busy, so he refused. But when the director told him about the plot, and that it involved slapping his boss, Lee Jung-jae, he immediately agreed, and he didn't even ask for payment for taking part in the series.
