"Fly Me to the Moon", originally titled "In Other Words", is a song written in 1954 by Bart Howard. The song was first performed by Kyle Ballard in the same year, the song has been recorded by a wide variety of artists, most notably jazz singer Frank Sinatra. A cover of the song performed by Korean-American singer Joo Won is featured in two episodes of Squid Game.
Hwang Dong-hyuk included the song in "Red Light, Green Light" because he wanted a contrast between the brutal killing of the players in the game and the "romantic and beautiful lyrics and melody" of the song, such that the scene "embodies the increasingly polarized capitalist society that we live in today in a very compressed and cynical way".
