The 28th Squid Game was the annual Squid Games competition that took place in August of 2015, which Hwang In-ho, also known as Player 132, ultimately won. Player records for the game briefly appears in "A Fair World" and several of the Players briefly appear in a flashback in "⭘△☐".
The night after the 5th game, Hwang In-ho was gifted a knife by Oh Il-nam, which he used to murder at least five other finalists in their sleep. It is unclear if the 6th game was played after this, or if anyone was spared.

- When Hwang In-ho opens the player files of the 28th Squid Game held in 2015, Player 004's file appears. It is an error for Player 004's file to be in the 2015 player files, because the file clearly says it is the 33rd Squid Game file.
